Who we are

With a clear focus on the quality of its offering and excellent service, embedded in a sustainable approach, Camping Lodge – founded in 2020 – has become one of Switzerland’s leading camping groups. Today, Camping Lodge operates five campsites in attractive tourist regions and is continuously developing them through targeted investment. At the end of 2025, Camping Lodge became part of the First Camp Group, Scandinavia’s largest campsite and resort operator. As a result, Camping Lodge has become part of a strong European network that offers guests first-class camping experiences from the Alps to the Arctic Circle.

As part of the First Camp Group, Camping Lodge benefits from international expertise, tried-and-tested processes and a wealth of experience in camping tourism. At the same time, the campsites remain firmly rooted in their regions and continue to be managed by local teams who maintain close ties with guests, partners and destinations.

Investments and renovations: optimisation initiatives at campsites

At Camping Lodge, we are constantly investing in the further development of our campsites and accommodation. Our aim is to upgrade existing infrastructure, enhance comfort for our guests and, at the same time, preserve the unique character of each site. To this end, we focus on sustainable renovations, high-quality materials and well-thought-out concepts that meet the needs of today’s campers.

Many of our projects stem from a desire to reinterpret existing buildings and accommodation rather than replace them. With great attention to detail, we modernise existing facilities, create new ways to enjoy your stay and ensure that our guests can look forward to an even more wonderful holiday experience year after year. In this way, we are investing not only in our campsites, but also in the future of camping tourism.

The Fox Cabin at Camping Jungfrau – Turning an old building into a favourite place to stay

A particularly beautiful example of a successful modernisation is the fox cabin, ‘Fuchsbau’, at Camping Jungfrau. When the campsite was taken over in 2020, the accommodation units were originally designed for four people and fitted with bunk beds.

As part of a comprehensive renovation, the units were completely reimagined. The accommodation was given a fresh coat of paint, fitted with modern furnishings and repositioned within the campsite. Inviting terraces were also created using reclaimed timber, which emphasise the cosy character of the accommodation and provide additional outdoor living space.

What were once simple family accommodation units have thus been transformed into charming retreats for two people. The modern concept captures the spirit of the times and offers the perfect blend of proximity to nature and comfortable accommodation. Today, the fox cabins are among the most popular accommodation options at Camping Jungfrau and delight both novice campers and seasoned camping enthusiasts alike.

Erlach Campsite’s Main Building: Redesigned Step by Step

The development of Camping Erlach is an example of how, through targeted investment and a clear vision, a campsite can be sustainably prepared for the future. The focus was on the main building, which underwent extensive modernisation in several phases.

The first step involved refurbishing the central lounge area. The originally dominant circular bar, with its dark ceiling, appeared rather uninviting and no longer met the expectations of modern campsite guests. Consequently, the ceiling was completely replaced and the bar was refitted. Light-coloured materials, a more open layout and a friendlier atmosphere transformed the space into a place where guests enjoy spending time and socialising.

The next major development phase took place during the winter months of 2022/23. As part of a comprehensive investment, the infrastructure of the entire campsite was modernised. Electricity, water and sewage pipes were replaced and upgraded with the future in mind to meet the growing demands of campers.

At the same time, the main building was also given a new layout. The various areas were clearly separated from one another and reorganised for greater functionality. A standalone reception and a separate shop were created, making the reception area clearer and more welcoming. The f&b facilities were also redesigned.

The restaurant "Brasserie am See" has introduced a modern restaurant concept that appeals to both campsite guests and day visitors. The combination of modern facilities, streamlined operations and contemporary cuisine has significantly enhanced the appeal of Camping Erlach and created a vibrant meeting place on Lake Biel.
